Face Frame Stock

WalzCraft makes every attempt to produce all Face Frame parts from one solid piece of wood. For sizes wider than 9″, please ask about our Glued Up Panels (GUPFS). For Face Frame Stock longer than 96″, please also inquire with our Customer Support Team for availability.

Please note that all Prefinished Face Frame Stock is Stained & Sealed on two sides and all edges, and Top Coated on the face and all edges. As a standard, Face Frame Part sizes are 1 1/2″ wide unless otherwise requested.

Joint Assembly Methods

Hoffman Dovetail Joinery Method for Corner Face Frames
Hoffman Dovetail Joinery

WalzCraft offers various Joint Assembly Methods for joining two Face Frame Configurations together. The preferred method is WalzCraft’s Hoffman Dovetail Assembly Method (JAM1), wherever possible. Hoffman Dovetail notches are routed into the parts to be conjoined, using a Hoffman Dovetail routing machine. Glue is then applied to the mating surfaces and assembled together. Hoffman Dovetails Keys are then inserted and driven into the material with a hammer, resulting in a perfectly aligned joint locking the pieces together.

The benefit of the Hoffman Dovetail Assembly Method includes the elimination of the clamping process during production, as Hoffman Dovetail Keys are designed to provide the correct clamping pressure for proper glue joints. This Method of Assembly also requires no additional fasteners, reducing potential damage from improper placement of screws or nails during construction and installation. This method of Joint Assembly is applicable for joints anywhere ranging from 0° to 180°.

Other Joint Assembly Methods available include Domino Tenon, Dowel, Biscuit, Pocket Screw, and Countersunk Screw Assemblies. Fasteners such as Dovetail Keys, Dowels, Screws, etc., will be shipped loose unless parts are Assembled by WalzCraft.
